A recent addition to Carl F Petersen’s catalogue of window and door fittings is the elolegic C-lever manufactured by KABA. The product’s slimline and stylish mechatronic door handle is designed for easy installation onto new or existing doors. The C-lever houses a motor and an external antenna which authorises pre-programmed keys, key fobs and ID cards.
Produced in satin stainless steel, the C-lever is available in slim or wide backplate options. The product offers 72mm or 92mm centres, euro-profile key override and is non-handed. The C-lever can be used on most existing door locks. When a valid medium is detected by the antenna, internal electronics engage the external DDA compliant handle and the door can be opened for four seconds. Media can be programmed or deleted as required.
Another solution for Access Control is the Multitronic door lock from German manufacturer FUHR. This product, which has been available from Carl F for the last three years, is a complete package including motor and transformer to operate the same locking mechanism, hooks, rollers, latch and deadbolt. Carl F reports that installation is no more difficult than any door – all that is required is for an electrician to wire a lead into the mains power. The product is supplied with a remote keypad as standard but can be readily adapted for use with other media.
