Recent product advancements in safety and security hardware technology taken by Carl F suppliers include HOPPE UK Ltd who have taken an initiative with the launch of a new 'Enhanced Security Handle' which, with its solid backplate bases, meets PAS 24 and Secured by Design requirements. Carl F reports that it has not seen any other product provide the strength of construction offered by the new HOPPE product. Additionally, Carl F promotes the safety/security benefits of the new handle which include a cylinder cover incorporated to protect against attack.
A further example of the proactive approach to safety and security in design taken by Carl F partner suppliers is provided by the 'Secure for Sure' initiative launched by Securistyle. This marketing support package ensures that windows are guaranteed against forced entry when they are fitted with the Securistyle Vector Excluder High Security Window Locking System Hardware which consists of Vector Excluder or Defender Lock, Securistyle hinges with the Vector Excluder ancillary security device and a Securistyle or approved locking handle.

The window lock with restrictor, which successfully combines safety, security and simplicity, is the latest addition to the Carl F fittings portfolio. Taking security hardware technology and strength previously used only in door locks and applying this to window hardware, the Carl F Trident provides an advanced security solution. Designed to create easier egress, the restrictor allows for emergency escape when required. Additionally, vulnerable users such as the young or elderly are protected as the window opening can be restricted when required.
While offering all the performance benefits of security hardware, Carl F reports that the product is simple to both fit and operate ensuring that valuable installation time is saved. The Carl F Trident meets EN1627 requirements, it ensures that security windows are made to BS7950 standards and it has Secured by Design approval.
