Carl F push the boat out for charity Colleagues from Carl F Petersen Ltd who took part in the Peterborough Dragon Boat festival have raised £1,300 for a local day care hospice. Lakelands, which provides respite care for cancer patients, is located close to Carl F's Corby based UK sales and distribution centre.
The mixed team of 17 people, who faced the gruelling 220 metre river course in wind and rain, succeeded in being placed in the top third of the 43 boats that took part. Carl F team organiser, Marketing Manager Louise Lai said:
"I was delighted at the strength of feeling from people at Carl F to support the work of this local charity. Every department from within Carl F Ltd was represented on our boat which made this a fantastic team building event: I am overwhelmed by people's efforts and extremely proud of everyone's achievements."
Louise Lai presented a cheque to Andrew Barford who is a fundraiser for Lakelands Day Care Hospice and Sonya Gavin who works as a nurse for Lakelands.
